Police Arraign Two For Allegedly Stabbing Man To Death In Oyo

The Oyo State Police command has on Tuesday, arraigned two persons, Adeyinka Olodude, 21, and Raphael Babatunde, 22, before an Iyaganku Magistrate’s Court, Ibadan, for alleged murder.

The duo whose addresses were not provided, are charged with conspiracy and murder of one Mr Sulaiman Olayinka, 24, by stabbing him with a knife on his chest.

The Police prosecution, Sgt. Samuel Owolabi informed the court that the defendants committed the offences on Oct. 3 at about 7.45 p.m. in the Ologuneru area of Ibadan.

Owolabi said that the defendants and others at large conspired to cause Sulaiman’s death as he could not survive the gruesome attack.

He said that the offences contravened Sections 516 and 316 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.

Meanwhile, the Magistrate, Mrs Gladys Oladele, did not take the pleas of the defendants for want of jurisdiction.

She directed the police to return the case file to the Oyo State Director of Public Prosecutions for advice.

The magistrate adjourned the case until Dec. 10, for mention.
