A 34-year-old man identified as Segun Adegbite was discovered dead on Monday at a construction site near WitchTech Factory on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
His body had signs of a machete attack.
Omolola Odutola, the Ogun State Police Command spokesperson confirmed the incident on Tuesday.
According to Odutola, a report was initially filed by Adedeji Adegbola, a resident, who informed the Sagamu Police Division.
Adegbola revealed that a local security guard at the construction site, identified as Hassan, notified him around 10:00 a.m. on Monday that a violent confrontation was taking place between Adegbite and several unidentified persons.
She said, “The incident was reported to the Sagamu Police Division by one Adedeji Adegbola of Lagos/Abeokuta Expressway, Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos, on Monday, October 28, 2024.”
The PRO said that the Police operatives arrived at the scene to find Adegbite’s lifeless body.
Odutola stated that investigators recovered a blood-stained machete from the site, which indicated it was likely the weapon used in the attack. She added that Adegbite’s body was taken to Live-Well Morgue, where an autopsy will be conducted.
