The Anambra State House of Assembly, Wednesday, commended Gov Charles Soludo for extending the state free education policy to students of public secondary schools in the state.

The resolution was passed following a motion moved by the member representing Aguata Constituency I, Hon Anayo Okpaleke.

Okpaleke, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Education, said that Governor Soludo had earlier granted free education to pupils and students of nursery, primary to junior secondary schools (JSS 3) in all state public schools.

Hon Okpaleke reiterated that access to quality education would equip the beneficiaries with the necessary tools to excel and take their destinies into their hands.

โ€œThat will ensure effective use of their talents for all round development and progress,โ€ he said.

According to him, Gov Soludoโ€™s free education policy had now opened windows of opportunities โ€œas evidenced by the upsurge in school enrolment of pupils and students in the state public schools, adding that, โ€œThe policy is breaking the cycle of social and economic barriers as well as poverty.โ€

The member representing Aguata Constituency II, Hon Tony Muobike, and his Ogbaru Constituency I counterpart, Hon Noble Igwe, and the Deputy Majority Leader, Dr Jude Akpua, expressed their approval of the governorโ€™s initiative, noting that Soludoโ€™s vision had brought positive revolution to the state.
