He stated that a total of 613,156 votes were cast in the Chairmanship elections across the stateโs Local Government Areas.
Osibodu confirmed that the elections featured candidates from 19 political parties, including Accord Party (AP), African Action Congress (AAC), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Labour Party (LP), Peopleโs Democratic Party (PDP), Social Democratic Party (SDP), and others.
Despite the diverse representation, the APC swept all Chairmanship and Councillorship seats.
In his announcement, Osibodu said, โWe are pleased to announce that the APC has won in all 20 Local Government Areas and 236 wards across the state. This result reflects the choices made by voters during the elections, which were largely peaceful.โ
He further expressed gratitude to Ogun residents for their participation, adding, โThe turnout was impressive, and the elections were conducted in a peaceful manner. We commend everyone for their cooperation and contribution to the success of this democratic process.โ
The elections, held across the state, marked a significant political victory for the APC, which has maintained dominance in Ogun State politics.
