BREAKING: Tinubu makes new appointment

President Bola Tinubu has approved the reappointment of Prof. Abdullahi Mustapha as Director General of the National Biotechnology Research and Development Agency (NBRDA) for a second five-year term.

The reappointment was officially communicated in a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, acknowledging Prof. Mustaphaโ€™s outstanding contributions during his first tenure.

Prof. Mustaphaโ€™s second term began on October 31, 2024, in line with Sections 10 (1) and (3) of the National Biotechnology Development Agency (Establishment) Act, 2022.

This decision reflects President Tinubuโ€™s trust in Prof. Mustaphaโ€™s leadership and his ability to drive innovation in the biotechnology sector. His reappointment is expected to advance critical areas such as food security, pharmaceutical production, and position Nigeria as a key player in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
