The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has approved the payment of N70,000 new National Minimum Wage for staff of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA).
The Acting Head of Civil Service of the FCTA, Mrs. Grace Adayilo, said the minister also approved the payment of three monthsโ arrears effective from November 2024.
According to Adayil, this was to help address the challenges faced by workers under the FCTA and improve their welfare.
She said Wike remains dedicated to the well-being of FCTA staff and advancement of the administrationโs performance.
โThe approval for the implementation of the new minimum wage and the payment of arrears is part of the ministerโs commitment to prioritizing the welfare of FCTA staff and enhancing their productivity,โ Adayilo said.
She added that the move would motivate the staff to further support the ministerโs efforts to deliver on President Bola Ahmed Tinubuโs Renewed Hope Agenda.
Adayilo, who expressed gratitude on behalf of the workforce, thanked Wike for his swift and consistent approvals for staff allowances and claims.
