Fuel Tanker Explodes At Jigawa-Kano Border

A fuel-laden tanker has busted into flames at the Jigawa-Kano border in North West Nigeria.

The incident took place near Gamoji village along Maiduri Road at Tsaida, Kwanar Kalle, said Aliyu M. A., the Public Relations Officer of the Federal Fire Service (FFS), Jigawa State Command.

Aliyu stated that the FFS received a distress call from the Kuho Village Head, Zubairu Ahmad, at about 10:43 a.m. on November 12.

He said the personnel arrived at the scene at 10:50 a.m. and brought the fire under control.

โ€œOn November 12, 2024, at approximately 10:43 hours, the Federal Fire Service received a distress call from Kuho Village Head, Zubairu Ahmad, regarding a tanker accident at Tsaida, Kwanar Kalle, near Gamoji village along Maiduri Road.โ€

โ€œThe FFS responded promptly, arriving at the scene at 10:50 hours. The fire was contained and brought under control,โ€ Aliyu said, and noted that no fatalities was recorded in the latest incident.

On October 15, a fuel-laden tanker exploded in Majia, Taura Local Government Area, and killed over 170 people.

It involved a tanker traveling from Kano to Nguru in Yobe State.
