GOVERNOR Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu has suspended his Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, Mr. Wale Ajetunmobi. His suspension comes on the heels of the misrepresentation of facts on his personal โXโ (formerly Twitter) account on a past incident.
In a statement released on โXโ by the State government @followlasg, Governor Sanwo-Olu stated categorically that his administration frowns at any form of extra judicial punishment and will not be a part of any such action. โThat is not who we are. That is not our way,โ the statement read.
Meanwhile, netizens have taken to social media including โXโ to react to the development.
An X user, Comrade Olajide Ikujenyo @jidekuje wrote: โFor an aide to have said what he said, it is either that he knows what he is saying (privy to what has happened behind the scene as a close person or aide to a senior government official) or he is spreading falsehood. Either way, it should be invited in for questioning.โ
Another user of X platform, EH @SurgeonHarris wrote: โItโs all a facade. You would soon reinstate him and pay him his salaries. This statement doesnโt change anything.โ
Mayowa David @Mayordavid_9 said: โ@Riddwane we stand with you gidigba. Sanwo Olu should keep on dancing to the mobsโฆ this is last of his type that will rule Lagos.โ
Querying the veracity of the suspension, Activist and Founder/Executive Director of Connect Hub Nigeria, a platform that documents, defends and advocates against state violence and police brutality in Nigeria, Rinu Oduala @SavvyRinu wrote: โWhat do you mean by misrepresentation of facts? Arenโt you the one trying to misrepresent facts here? He just stated what he knows but you are trying to turn it into misrepresentation.โ
