Lakurawa making a mistake, nobody dares Tinubu and wins – Ribadu

NATIONAL Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu has issued a stark warning to the new Islamic sect in the North-West, known as Lakurawa, stating that their days are numbered if they do not cease their acts of terrorism.

Speaking yesterday at the opening ceremony of the Comptroller General of Customs Conference in Abuja, he asserted that no one challenges President Bola Tinubu without facing consequences.

He emphasized that the terrorist group has emerged at an inopportune moment for them, given Tinubu’s leadership, and vowed that they will be expelled from Nigeria.

Last week, the Defence Headquarters confirmed the rise of a new terror group called ‘Lukarawas’ in the Northwestern states of Sokoto and Kebbi.

During a press conference in Abuja, Director of Defence Media Operations Major General Edward Buba stated that this new group is worsening insecurity in the North-West, but the Armed Forces of Nigeria are actively working to contain the threat.

“Troops are facing a new terrorist sect in the North-West known as Lukawaras, which has connections to terrorists in the Sahel, particularly from Mali and Niger Republic. They have begun to infiltrate Northern Nigeria, primarily in Sokoto and Kebbi states, coming from the Niger and Mali regions,” General Buba explained.

He noted that the emergence of this new terror group followed a coup that disrupted military cooperation between Nigeria and Niger.

Additionally, the military has declared nine terrorists wanted for their involvement in the country’s security challenges.
