Afrobeats singer Tiwa Savage has stated that poverty is a major factor in the large number of entertainers emerging from Nigeria.
The divorced mother of one believes that the hardships faced in the country drive young people to explore and develop their talents.
While speaking on the “Shopping The Sneakers” podcast, Savage highlighted the challenges of living in Nigeria.
She remarked, “When you come to Nigeria, you will understand why we produce so many superstars. Surviving in Nigeria is a struggle, which is why the artists that emerge from here are essentially hustlers; they are just trying to make ends meet.”
Nigeria boasts Africa’s largest industries in movies, music, comedy, and fashion. Notably, Nollywood is recognized as the second-largest movie industry in the world.
