Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, announced that President Bola Tinubu has ordered the immediate release of all detained minors and their reunion with their families across Nigeria.
Addressing State House correspondents on Monday, Idris was joined by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, and Sunday Dare, Special Adviser on Public Communications and Orientation.
“The President has directed that all minors be released and also reunited with their families anywhere they are in the country,” Idris stated.
He added that a committee had been established to investigate the circumstances surrounding the minors’ arrest, detention, and release.
“All the law enforcement agents related to the case will be investigated, and anyone found wanting will be brought to book,” he assured.
