The military has revealed that its troops killed a total of 481 terrorists and arrested 741 others in a week.

The military disclosed this on Thursday during its press briefing in Abuja, led by Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations.

Buba said troops rescued 492 kidnapped hostages and recovered 480 weapons and 9,026 assorted ammunition.

The military, however, declared nine terrorists wanted. They include Abu Khadijah, Abdurrahman, Dadi Gumba (Abu Muhammel), Usman Kanin Shehu, Abu Yusuf, Musa Waโ€™a, Ibrahim Suyeka, Ba Sulhu, Idris Taklakse.

Buba noted that troops of the Nigerian military also denied the oil theft of an estimated sum of N4bn

The military further noted that despite the demise of the Late Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. TA Lagbaja, would not be deterred in its responsibility to destroy the terrorists.

โ€œWe are rather inspired by his actions on the battlefield as a war commander as well as his strong desire to defeat the terrorists in order to end the war.

โ€œAccordingly, the military will continue to work decisively to kill the terrorists, stop the insecurity in the nation and ensure the safety of citizens. The armed forces remain in a good and strong position in this war, and will win this war,โ€ he said.
