Akwa Ibom Gov Signs ₦955bn 2025 Budget into Law

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has signed the ₦955 billion 2025 budget, titled the “Budget of Consolidation and Expansion,” into law.

The signing ceremony took place on Monday at the State Executive Council Chambers in Uyo, a week after the State House of Assembly passed the budget.

Governor Eno praised the State House of Assembly for its timely passage of the budget and lauded the strong collaboration between the executive and legislature.

He stated, “The harmonious relationship between the executive and legislature is crucial for delivering democratic dividends to the people of Akwa Ibom.”

The budget, passed on December 24, allocates ₦300 billion to recurrent expenditure and ₦655 billion to capital expenditure, marking a 3% increase from the ₦923.412 billion revised provision for 2024.

Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Udeme Otong, along with members of the State Executive Council and the legislature, attended the signing ceremony.

Governor Eno urged all stakeholders to sustain their commitment to ensuring the effective implementation of the budget for the benefit of Akwa Ibom residents.
