The National Vice-Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) for the South East, Augustin Ehiemere, has called on party members to remain united as they work toward achieving their goals.
He also urged the people of Abia State to stay vigilant and ensure that individuals who have previously raped the state are not allowed to return to power in 2027.
Ehiemere who stated this on Tuesday, during a meeting with leaders of the Party in the State at his Country home in Umunteke-Asa Ukwa West LGA, maintained that the defectors are those who milked the State dry with no dividends of democracy and have planned to come back to hijack the State in 2027.
Ehiemere said the meeting which was geared towards thanking leaders of the party for their trust and steadfastness throughout the trying moments of Party and it’s victory in court, informed that APGA is poised to capture and govern Abia State in subsequent elections in the State.
“I urge members of our party, APGA, to remain strong, united and expand the party. Those who will want to run election in the party as last resort will be disappointed if they don’t join the party now and build and work for the party. It will no longer be business as usual. They should join the party now and reap the reward thereafter,” he said.
He used the medium to appeal to the State Governor, Alex Otti to provide the people of Ukwa with infrastructural developments to ameliorate their sufferings.
“Ukwa West has no electricity, there are no good roads in Ukwa West. Particularly Obehie Azumini Road should be given a touch as there are areas that are so bad and dilapidated.
He should use his good office to give attention, at least to improve the infrastructural development and the road networks in Ukwa West, as an oil producing local government,” he appealed.
He thanked the Governor for his infrastructural developments particularly the long abandoned Port Harcourt road Aba and also appreciated the Governor for regular payment of pensions to pensioners, which was never done before. He appealed that the issue of paying pensioners gratuities should be looked into in 2025.
