In a brazen display of lawlessness, bandits struck once again in Akoti village, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, hijacking a pickup van loaded with foodstuffs and drinks, including bottled water.
The daring heist occurred just 48 hours after another gang targeted a man on a motorcycle, snatching his supplies of food and beverages.
A local source revealed that the vanโs owner was transporting essential provisions bags of rice, a jerrycan of vegetable oil, energy drinks, and bottled water from Jere to Akoti village.
The journey took a perilous turn when armed bandits, brandishing AK-47 rifles, emerged from the forest, forced the vehicle to stop, deflated its tyres, and redirected it into the dense wilderness.
After seizing the goods, the bandits spared the driver and his conductor, releasing them unharmed.
The Kaduna State Police Command, through its spokesman ASP Hassan Mansur, has yet to confirm the incident at the time of this report, leaving residents in heightened anxiety over the growing insecurity in the region.
