Gunmen Abduct Lawmaker Traveling For Christmas

The Anambra Police command has confirmed the kidnapping of a member of the Anambra House of Assembly, Justice Azuka.

The command’s spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga, said in a statement that the lawmaker was kidnapped on Tuesday at about 9:20 p.m in Onitsha North Local Government Area, Anambra State, along Ugwunapampa Road.

Azuka was reportedly attacked by the gunmen while he was making his way home for Christmas.

The spokesperson said police have “activated operational plans for the possible rescue and arrest of the kidnappers of the lawmaker.”
