Jesus’ Hat-Trick Fires Arsenal Into Carabao Cup Semis; Newcastle, Liverpool Joins

Gabriel Jesus stole the spotlight with a sensational second-half hat-trick, leading Arsenal to a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory over Crystal Palace at the Emirates, securing a place in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

Crystal Palace had taken an early lead when J. Metata struck in the 4th minute, giving the visitors a 1-0 advantage heading into the break. But Arsenal came alive in the second half, spearheaded by Jesus’ clinical finishing. The Brazilian forward netted three times in the 54th, 73rd, and 81st minutes, putting Arsenal in control at 3-1.

Crystal Palace’s Eddie Nketiah pulled one back in the 85th minute, but it was too little, too late as Arsenal held firm to seal the win.

Elsewhere, Newcastle United produced a dominant display to cruise past Brentford 3-1 and advance to the semi-finals. Their attacking prowess was on full display as they overcame the Bees with ease.

Liverpool also made it through, securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Southampton at St. Mary’s. The Reds showed resilience and composure to edge their hosts and book a spot in the final four.

With a Carabao Cup semi-final spot in the bag, Arsenal will now turn their attention to the Premier League, where they face Crystal Palace once again on Saturday, this time away at Selhurst Park. The victory over Palace at the Emirates has given them a crucial morale boost as they aim to challenge for trophies across multiple fronts this season.
