Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has shared his thoughts on why many women remain unmarried in their 30s, attributing it to decisions made earlier in life.
In a recent interview with News Central, Kanayo explained that many women spend their 20s in relationships with wealthy, often older, married men, which impacts their chances of finding a husband later in life.
He said, โSome girls in university at 18, 19, or 20 start dating very rich men, sometimes much older. Because these men spoil them with luxuryโbuying cars, houses, and offering a high lifestyleโthey often turn down the advances of younger, potential suitors. To them, it seems they are living at a much higher level.โ
Kanayo added, โBy the time theyโre in their mid-20s, theyโve passed up many opportunities with younger men. As they approach 30, theyโve left university, but by then, men no longer find them as attractive. At 31, they find themselves still single, praying for a husband. Theyโve gone from being a โflexโ at 23 to a โprayer pointโ at 28. By 33, theyโre in a โstate of emergency,โ and at 35, some are still unmarried but believe theyโre โhaving fun.โ The reality is theyโre no longer having fun; theyโre desperately hoping for anyone to come.โ
