A late-night fire has ravaged parts of the popular Bayan Tasha market in Damaturu, destroying shops and goods valued at millions of Naira.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, and investigations are ongoing.
The fire was eventually brought under control through the combined efforts of fire fighters and local good Samaritans.
At the time of this report, no fatalities had been reported, though significant property damage occurred, with countless goods and belongings destroyed.
Mustapha Mohammed Gujba, a local resident of Damaturu, shared the news on his Facebook page, expressing his sympathy for those affected:
โToday, we have received news of a fire outbreak at the market behind the motor park in Damaturu town. To those impacted, we pray that Allah grants you comfort and replaces what you have lost with something better.โ
