My Dad Pioneered Nigeria’s Internet Connection’ — Eldee Makes Bold Claim

Veteran singer, Eldee The Don, has revealed an intriguing part of his history, he noted that his father was the first person to connect Nigeria to the Internet.

According to Eldee, his dad not only established the first cyber cafe in Lagos but also provided internet services to major oil companies and government agencies.

Eldee credits his early exposure to technology as a significant advantage in his music career.

In a candid conversation on the Adesope Live show, he shared, “I was fortunate to have a dad who was deeply involved in technology. He was a pioneer in his own right.”

He continued, “That man (my dad) was the first to connect Nigeria to the Internet. People often debate this because they don’t know his name. He wasn’t the type to seek the spotlight.”

“My dad set up the very first cyber cafe in Lagos. He was behind the initial internet connections for companies like Mobil, the Central Bank of Nigeria, and several government agencies.

“At that time, we had access to technology that was rare. And with that, I had a music studio right in our house, where all the magic happened,”he added.
