The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) has launched the Production Monitoring Command Centre (PMCC), a state-of-the-art initiative aimed at transforming hydrocarbon operations and enhancing production output in Nigeria.
The PMCC, driven by the NNPC Upstream Investment Management Services, builds on the Command and Control Centreโs achievements, integrating real-time monitoring with advanced analytics to streamline operations.
The announcement was made via a statement and video published on the companyโs website on Wednesday.
Olufemi Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPC Ltd., described the PMCC as a critical tool for achieving the efficiency and production goals outlined in President Bola Tinubuโs policy framework.
โThe PMCC serves as a unified platform for monitoring hydrocarbon molecules from production to export terminals, covering Joint Ventures (JVs) and Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs),โ Soneye said.
The PMCC consolidates data from various operators, enabling stakeholders to track production activities, detect anomalies, and minimize disruptions.
The systemโs predictive and preventive maintenance features ensure equipment reliability and operational continuity.
โBy integrating data and advanced analytics, the PMCC empowers stakeholders with actionable insights, enhances planning, and improves resource allocation and risk management,โ Soneye added.
A highlight of the PMCC is its role in fostering collaboration among stakeholders through secure data sharing and communication, ensuring effective problem-solving across the sector.
Under the leadership of Mele Kyari, NNPC Ltd. has increased production to 1.8 million barrels per day (bpd) and is targeting 2 million bpd.
The PMCC is seen as pivotal to achieving this milestone by enhancing operational efficiency and production capacity.
Operating round-the-clock with cloud-based solutions, the PMCC ensures seamless data exchange while linking directly to the Industry-Wide Security Command and Control Centre for enhanced security.
This initiative underscores NNPC Ltd.โs commitment to innovation, aligning with national goals and bolstering Nigeriaโs standing in the global energy market.
