The Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has conveyed his profound grief over the devastating loss suffered by his Jigawa counterpart, Governor Mallam Umar Namadi.
Tragedy struck when Abdulwahab, the 24-year-old son of Governor Namadi, lost his life in a harrowing motor accident on the Dutse-Kafin-Hausa Road on the 26th of December, 2024.
This heartbreaking event came just hours after the family had bid farewell to Governor Namadi’s beloved mother, Hajiya Maryam.
In a statement issued by Ismaila Uba Misilli, Director-General, Press Affairs, Government House, Gombe, Governor Yahaya extended his heartfelt condolences, describing the dual losses as “heart-wrenching and profoundly saddening.”
He reflected on the immense challenge of enduring such a profound double tragedy within such a short time, emphasizing the strength of faith needed in moments like this.
Urging solace in divine wisdom, he reminded his grieving counterpart of the timeless truth: “What Allah takes belongs to Him, and what He gives is also His, for everything occurs at its appointed time according to His will.”
Governor Yahaya prayed for Allah’s mercy and forgiveness upon the souls of Abdulwahab and Hajiya Maryam, seeking Aljannat Firdaus for them.
He also implored Allah to grant the bereaved family the strength and patience to endure this agonizing period.
