OGUN: Police arrest officers demanding money to investigate missing girl

SOME officers from the Ogun State Police Command have been arrested for allegedly soliciting money from the family of a missing girl before proceeding with the case.

The Public Relations Officer for the Nigeria Police Force, Muyiwa Adejobi, shared this information today in a post on X.com.

He confirmed that the officers are currently in custody.

In his post, he mentioned: โ€œRegarding the missing girl in Otta: The police officers who requested money before addressing the case have been arrested and are now facing disciplinary action.

Adejobi also reiterated the commandโ€™s dedication to finding the missing girl and assured the public that she would be located soon.

โ€œThe Ogun State Police Command is actively investigating the case. We will find the girl as quickly as possible. We also encourage the victimโ€™s family to work closely with the police,โ€ he stated.

Earlier, Adejobi had cautioned officers against misusing Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokunโ€™s name for fraudulent purposes and urged the public to report such incidents.
