The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has urged stakeholders across the state to heighten security awareness in their communities during the festive and New Year celebrations.
In a statement by the So-Safe Public Relations Officer, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, and made available to journalists in Abeokuta, the State Commander, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, emphasized the need for collective responsibility to ensure safety during the holiday season.
Dr. Ganzallo called on landlords, community leaders, religious leaders, and other stakeholders to prioritize security consciousness among their people.
He directed the Corps’ Zonal and Area Commanders to intensify surveillance and enforcement operations from December 15, 2024, to January 10, 2025, to safeguard residents, visitors, and commuters across the state.
He also tasked So-Safe personnel with combating crimes such as cultism, robbery, and theft, and issued a stern warning to residents against boarding “One Chance” vehicles to avoid being kidnapped or falling victim to ritualists.
“Beware of ‘One Chance’ scams, kidnapping for rituals, or ransom demands,” Ganzallo said, reaffirming the Corps’ collaboration with the Nigeria Police and other security agencies to maintain peace and safety throughout Ogun State.
