Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has called on citizens to embrace the true essence of Christmas by prioritizing love, sharing, and care for one another.
In his Christmas message to Ndi Abia on Wednesday, the governor reflected on the blessings of the year and urged everyone to spread the joy of the season, especially to the less privileged.
โThe true joy of Christmas is found in the wonders of sharing, loving, and caring. As a community of Godโs people, we are invited to reflect on the privileges and blessings showered on us by the Creator and embrace, with cheerful hearts, the responsibility of sharing with our neighbors, especially those in need,โGovernor Otti stated.
The Governor extended a warm welcome to Abians returning home from different parts of the world for the festivities and assured them of their safety, noting that his administration had implemented robust security measures to ensure a peaceful yuletide.
โDo well to visit friends and relatives to celebrate together in an atmosphere of love and freedom,โ he added.
Highlighting his administrationโs progress in delivering good governance across the state, he urged citizens to observe the developmental strides made in infrastructure, healthcare, education, and entrepreneurship during their visits.
The governor appealed to Abians to partner with the government in driving economic growth in key sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and leatherworks. He emphasized that such collaborations would create jobs and improve living standards across the state.
Furthermore, he provided words of comfort to those facing personal challenges this season saying, โTo those who suffered various forms of setbacks in the course of the year and are currently in pain due to the loss of loved ones, may I extend our collective message of comfort and love this festive season.
As the festivities continue, the governor urged prudence and safety in celebrations, discouraging excessive consumption and reckless behaviors.
He also commended workers in essential services, including security agents and medical personnel, for their selfless dedication during the season.
