The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has donated N10 million to Madonna College of Health Technology in Olokoro, Abia State, as part of his ongoing commitment to supporting critical sectors such as health, education, and poverty alleviation.

Obi made the donation following his visit to the Women Fellowship Pastoral Project in Umuahia, where he reiterated his dedication to improving the countryโ€™s health and educational institutions.

During the visit to Madonna College, Obi praised the institution for its role in training health professionals, particularly at a time when Nigeria is facing a severe shortage of qualified personnel in the health sector. He emphasized that schools like Madonna College are crucial in bridging this gap and are deserving of further support.

โ€œInstitutions like these, which contribute immeasurably to the training of health professionals, should be supported to do more,โ€ Obi said in his address.

In his speech to students, Obi encouraged them to view their education as a means to contribute positively to society and to become change agents in the development of Nigeria.

He concluded by expressing gratitude to the institutionโ€™s proprietor, management, and staff for their continued efforts in shaping the future of the health sector.

โ€œTogether, we all will build the New Nigeria we all deserve. It is POssible,โ€ Obi said, reinforcing his vision for a better future.

Obiโ€™s visit and donation to Madonna College of Health Technology highlight his ongoing focus on strengthening Nigeriaโ€™s healthcare system and educational infrastructure as part of his broader commitment to national development.
