This latest collapse comes just weeks after the grid experienced three breakdowns within a single week in October, sparking outrage and frustration among Nigerians who have had to endure frequent power outages throughout the year. Since January 2024, the grid has now collapsed a total of 12 times, with 11 of those incidents occurring between January and November.
The repeated failures of the national power grid have had a severe impact on both households and businesses across the country, as many have been forced to rely on expensive generators to meet their electricity needs.
