President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after a pivotal visit to South Africa, where he co-chaired the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC) alongside President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Touching down at precisely 9:10 PM at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Wednesday 4th of December, President Tinubu was met with a distinguished reception.
Among the dignitaries welcoming him were the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje, and FCT Commissioner of Police Peter Opara.
The 11th session of the BNC was a landmark gathering, with deliberations spanning eight strategic areas of mutual interest: political consultations, consular and migration affairs, banking and finance, defence and security, manufacturing, social sector development, mining and energy, and trade and investments.
This high-level summit culminated in the signing of numerous Memoranda of Understanding and agreements, symbolizing a renewed commitment to the deepening of bilateral relations.
Established in 1999, the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission remains a cornerstone of cooperation, fostering enduring friendship and collaboration between two of Africa’s most prominent nations.
