Tunji-Ojo Transforming Interior Ministry, Says APC  Cheiftain

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Darlington Nwauju, has described the events, programmes, and policies emanating from the Ministry of Interior under Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo as a “civilian revolution.”

According to Nwauju, the Ministry of Interior has undergone a significant transformation under Dr. Tunji-Ojo’s leadership, with numerous achievements that have set a high standard for public office holders in Nigeria.

He highlighted some of the notable achievements of the Ministry of Interior under Tunji-Ojo which include the promotion of over 50,000 paramilitary officers across the agencies under the Ministry, rehabilitation of some correctional centers, remodeling of the fire service academy, launch of contactless biometric passports, deployment of over 40 eGates across major international airports in Nigeria, establishment of a command and control center, launch of the safe school initiative, and enhanced e-passport facilities.

He added that the recent launch of the eGates by President Tinubu, which is one of the achievements of the Interior Ministry, is seen as a significant step towards safer borders and improved internal security.

Nwauju noted that the Ministry of Interior under  Tunji-Ojo has become a positive reference point for service delivery, planning, excellence, teamwork, and frugality. 

He added that the Ministry’s achievements have oxygenated debates for the recruitment of more youths to handle sensitive positions.

He said: “The “civilian revolution” underway at the Ministry of Interior is a testament to the impact that dedicated and visionary leadership can have on public institutions. As the Ministry continues to set high standards for public service delivery, it is clear that Dr. Tunji-Ojo’s appointment by President Tinubu was a wise decision.”
