What Marco Baroni wants me to improve on- Lazio star Fisayo Dele-Bashiru

Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has revealed that coach Marco Baroni has been helping him improve on his ball progression since he moved to the club last summer, Soccernet.ng reports.

Dele-Bashiru joined Lazio in season-long loan from Turkish Super Lig club Hatayspor last summer, and he has had a decent start to life so far. The Manchester City academy graduate has contributed four goals and two assists in 14 appearances this season.

He scored Lazioโ€™s solitary goal in their hard-fought 1-1 draw against Atalanta on Saturday, and that was just his fifth Serie A start of the campaign.

In a recent interview, he spoke about how Marco Baroni has influenced him. He revealed that the Italian tactician has been teaching him to be more positive whenever he has the ball.

โ€œThey [Baroni and the Lazio coaching staff] help me a lot, and what he [Baroni] wants me to do more is when I receive the ball, to go forward more, my body positions, things like that. So Iโ€™m trying to implement that into my game,โ€ Dele-Bashiru told Lazio TV.

The 23-year-old midfielder has proven to be a reliable outlet for Lazio whenever he is on the pitch. If he continues to improve, the Eagles will make his deal permanent at the end of the campaign.
