The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister has revoked lands belonging to former President Muhammadu Buhari, House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, and Secretary to the Government of the Federation George Akume, along with 759 other individuals and organisations in Maitama II, Abuja, over non-payment of Certificates of Occupancy.
The revocation was announced in a publication by the FCT Administration and shared with Channels Television by Lere Olayinka, the ministerโs Special Adviser.
In a separate notice, the minister also warned that lands owned by Minority Leader of the House of Representatives Kingsley Chinda, former Senate Presidents Iyorchia Ayu and Ameh Ebute, Senate Chief Whip Tahir Monguno, and 610 others could face similar revocation if outstanding fees were not paid within two weeks.
This action follows months of appeals from the minister urging FCT residents, particularly those in prime areas, to settle their debts or risk losing their land allocations.
