Yuletide: Osun NSCDC Mobilizes 1,750 Officers for Safety Assurance

The Osun Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has strategically deployed 1,750 personnel across the state to ensure a secure, peaceful, and crime-free Christmas celebration.

This robust security measure is designed to provide round-the-clock surveillance, safeguarding critical national assets and infrastructure during the festive season.

Commandant Igbalawole Sotiyo, head of the NSCDC Osun State Command, announced this development in a statement on the 19th of December, 2024, assuring the public of a โ€œmassive security arrangementโ€ in place across the state.

โ€œI have given a marching order to all Divisional Officers across the state to deploy personnel to worship centres, marketplaces, recreation centres, and other flashpoints,โ€ the Commandant stated.

He further emphasized the importance of collaboration, instructing officers to work closely with other security agencies to ensure Osun State remains safe throughout and beyond the celebrations.

Delivering a stern warning to potential troublemakers, Commandant Sotiyo advised them to reconsider any plans to disrupt public peace, stating they would face the full weight of the law if caught.

He also urged the deployed personnel to maintain civility while being firm in their duties and called on residents to stay vigilant by reporting any suspicious activities to the nearest security agency.
