Bayelsa To Partner South Korea To Boost Food Production

The Bayelsa State Government has expressed its readiness to partner with South Korea in the field of agriculture to boost food production.

Governor Douye Diri stated this when he hosted visiting South Korean Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency, Kim Pan-Kyu in Yenagoa, the state capital.

Diri noted that the State was prepared for more partnership and ties with the Korean Nation, particularly in the areas of agriculture including aquaculture.

The Governor who assured of the government โ€˜s readiness to have an independent power supply to address epileptic electricity in the State expressed delight over the peaceful nature of the state while thanking the South Korean Government for the support given to the state

Highpoint of the event was when Governor Diri conferred Ambassador Kim Pan-Kyu with the honorary citizenship of Bayelsa State.

Dignitaries at the event were the Deputy governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrujakpo, Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abraham Ingobere, Secretary to the State Government l, Prof. Nimibofa Ayawei, Chief of Staff Government House, Dr. Peter Akpe, House of Assembly members, first Military Governor, Old Rivers State, King Alfred Diete Spiff, Commissioners, and top government officials.
