‘Bello Turji’s Whereabouts Unknown’ After Airstrikes Killed Men, Says NAF

Troops of operation FANSAN YAMMA have carried out air strikes and ground operations at Fakai Hills, reportedly killing several bandits loyal to the notorious bandit commander, Bello Turji.

According to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) spokesman, Air Vice Marshal Olusola F Akinboyewa, the air-ground operation was carried out on January 10, 2025.

While many of his men were killed and injured, Turji’s whereabouts remain unknown, said NAF.

The ground operation was carried out with support from an air intelligence surveillance and observation platform.

Akinboyewa said the targets were struck with rockets and cannons by the aircrew which remained in visual and radio contact with the ground troops.

He added that numerous kidnapped victims were released.
