OPERATIVES from the Benin Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have apprehended 25 individuals suspected of internet fraud at an alleged cybercrime training center in Benin City, Edo State.
In a statement issued yesterday, the commission disclosed that the arrests took place on Thursday, following credible intelligence suggesting the location was being used as a “Yahoo academy” for training in internet fraud and other illicit activities.
Recovered items include six luxury vehicles, laptops, and phones.
The statement further noted that the suspects will be prosecuted upon the conclusion of investigations.
