Prepare for a temporary blackout! The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that select areas in Delta State will experience a planned three-hour power outage on Wednesday, January 8.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Ndidi Mbah, TCNโs General Manager of Public Affairs, revealed that the outage is part of maintenance efforts at the Delta 132/33kV transmission substation, scheduled between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM.
The maintenance is intended to rectify a fault on the 132kV Delta1 busbar, a key component in power transmission. As a result:
Affected Areas Include: Agbarho/Eku, Otovwodo/Patani
Ughelli/Shell, Beta Glass, Aladja, Isoko/Kwale, Imoniyame.
Customers connected to the 33kV feeders at Effurun, Enerhen, PTI, Sapele, Refinery 1, Refinery 2, and Warri will also be impacted.
โWe deeply regret the inconvenience this may cause,โ Mbah stated. โPower will be restored promptly after the maintenance is completed.โ
This announcement follows a similar development by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC), which disclosed on January 3 that parts of Abuja would experience outages from January 6 to 21 due to the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) relocating feeder and transmission line towers along the Outer Southern Expressway.
