THE Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike has assured residents of Abuja that he will continue with reforms from 2024 in the New Year.
In a statement he issued on Wednesday, the minister after reeling out projects embarked upon in 2024, said massive infrastructural development is a key driver of economic growth and improved quality of life.
Wike continues to face criticisms, especially following the demolition of communities and the reallocation of lands in the FCT.
He said “Dear Residents of the FCT, Happy New Year!
“As we enter 2025 with renewed hope and optimism, I extend my warmest wishes to you all. And pray that this new year brings peace, progress, and prosperity to every household within the FCT.
“I also wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to you for cooperating with the administration in implementing its policies and programs. Your support and understanding have driven our vision for a better FCT. I also commend your commitment to peaceful coexistence and care for each other throughout the past year
“While challenging for many, 2024 was admittedly remarkable for the FCT, as we recorded significant achievements that have set the foundation for sustained development.
“These accomplishments demonstrate our collective effort and commitment to building a prosperous, unified, progressive FCT.
“Among our key achievements over the past 12 months are: Massive infrastructural development, including the construction of new urban and rural roads, has dramatically improved connectivity and accessibility for residents, and rural road development has significantly enhanced economic activities in our rural communities, creating opportunities and improving livelihoods.”
