FRSC Nabs Man Fleeing With Stolen Motorcycle In Nasarawa

One Mgbede Adaji, from Adoka, Benue State, has been arrested while fleeing with his boss’ motorcycle that he allegedly stole in Abuja.

The suspect was arrested by the operatives of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Bukan Sidi Unit of Nasarawa Sector Command, along Lafia-Akwanga road.

The acting unit commander, CRC Itsoga Daniel Indano, told NewsNGR on Tuesday that the operatives apprehended Adaji for the primary offences of riding a motorcycle without a crash helmet and a number plate.

He said, “He was booked appropriately, but during interrogations, he claimed he was sent from his workplace in Lafia. He said he did not know where he was coming from. This story raised suspicions, and he was placed on further interrogations.

“The motorcycle was impounded, and he was asked to go and return to the command the following day. The offender refused to go but rather he demanded to sleep on the command’s premises. The marshals on night duties insisted he must go. At this point, the offender said the motorcycle belongs to his boss.”

Adaji, however, admitted to having stolen the motorcycle when he was subjected to thorough interrogations by the acting unit commander.

He confessed that the motorcycle belonged to a white man and was stolen from his workplace in Abuja, NewsNGR heard.

Meanwhile, the suspect, the motorcycle, and an Android phone in his possession have been handed over to the police for more investigations as directed by the Acting Sector Commander, DCC JO Bebia.
