Governor Mai Mala Buni has issued a decisive order to security agencies to “identify and block all loose ends” to curb the activities of hoodlums in Ngalda and across the state.
According to a statement by his spokesman, Mamman Mohammed, the directive was in response to a brazen armed robbery attack on the 20th of January, 2025, at Ngalda weekly market in Fika Local Government Area.
Demonstrating empathy and swift action, the governor dispatched a high-powered delegation to console the victims and their families.
He also ordered immediate relief to the affected individuals, aiming to bring comfort to those grieving and aid to the injured.
“You should do a thorough investigation, check the loopholes to guard against future occurrence, just as you don’t spare those involved,” Governor Buni commanded, underscoring the urgency of the matter.
The tragic incident unfolded around 9:00 pm after the market had closed, leaving casualties in its wake.
Among those killed were three suspected members of the robbery gang, while others who sustained injuries are currently receiving treatment at General Hospital Fika.
