Adamawa State Governor Umaru Fintiri has approved the appointment of seven new traditional rulers for recently established chiefdoms and emirates across the state.
The appointments take effect immediately, as confirmed by the governor’s office.
In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Humwashi Wonisikou, the names and territories of the newly appointed leaders were shared with the public on Friday.
Governor Fintiri expressed his congratulations to the newly selected traditional rulers, emphasizing that their appointments were based on merit and their widespread popularity within their communities.
He urged them to serve with fairness, integrity, and responsibility as they assume their new roles.
The newly appointed traditional rulers and their domains are as follows:
HRH Sani Ahmadu Ribadu – Emir of Fufore
HRH Alheri Nyako – Tol Huba
HRH Prof. Bulus Luka Gadiga – Mbemge Ka Michigan
HRH Ali Danburam – Phil Madagali
HRH Aggrey Ali – Kumu of Gombi
HRH Ahmadu Saibaru – Emir of Maiha
HRH John Dio – Gubo Yungur
The appointments mark a significant development in the governance and cultural leadership of the state, with Governor Fintiri reiterating his commitment to the traditional institutions that contribute to the well-being of the people of Adamawa.
