The Governor of Nasarawa State, Abdullahi Sule, has called on his supporters to desist from premature campaigns promoting him for the 2027 Nasarawa North Senatorial seat, stressing his commitment to fulfilling his current mandate.
Naija News gathered that Sule made this appeal on Friday in Lafia while hosting a delegation of traditional rulers and stakeholders from Akwanga Local Government Area.
Addressing the gathering, the governor emphasized his determination to focus on delivering developmental projects for the state in the remaining two years of his administration.
He said, โWe are doing our best to make the next two years the most productive for Nasarawa State.
โHowever, you know we canโt achieve that if we are distracted by campaigns. If you see anybody campaigning for A.A. Sule as a senator, the person is doing it on his own.โ
Sule also urged elected officials from Nasarawa North to prioritize their responsibilities and deliver on their mandates rather than engaging in premature political campaigns.
โIf the officials deliver on their mandates, there wonโt be a need for prolonged campaigns, as the people will naturally support them when the time comes,โ the governor added.
2025 Budget Commitment
Highlighting his administrationโs commitment to development, Sule expressed confidence that the recently signed 2025 budget, pegged at over โฆ384 billion, would pave the way for significant progress.
โWe are committed to implementing policies and programs that will have a direct bearing on the lives of our people. The next two years will define the impact of this administration,โ he assured.
Traditional Leaders Back Governor
In his remarks, Samson Gamu Yare, the Chun Mada, lauded Governor Suleโs leadership and developmental strides, describing his initiatives as unprecedented.
Yare said, โYour far-reaching development initiatives are visible across the state and are unprecedented in Nasarawaโs history.
โWe are here to reaffirm our total support and unflinching loyalty to your administration.โ
