Governor Yusuf Appoints Jamila Magaji Abdullahi as Accountant General

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has approved appointments and reassignments across key sectors to strengthen governance and improve service delivery.

A statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, announced the appointments, highlighting the administration’s focus on transparency, accountability, and professionalism in public service.

Jamila Magaji Abdullahi has been appointed Accountant General of Kano State. She has over 16 years of experience in financial compliance, budgeting, and risk management. She previously served as Director of Treasury at the Kano State Ministry of Finance.

Muhammad Yahaya Liman has been appointed Director of Treasury. With extensive experience in financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and risk management, his expertise is expected to enhance the state’s financial performance.

Akibu Isa Murtala, formerly Senior Special Assistant in the Office of the Chief of Staff, is now the Special Adviser on Administration in the Governor’s Office, tasked with coordinating administrative functions.

Engr. Abubakar Sadiq has been redeployed as Deputy Managing Director of the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWASA). He will focus on improving rural water supply and sanitation.

A committee has also been established to revive the Kano State Transport Authority (Kano Line), with Sa’idu Abdullahi Shu’aibu serving as Chairman and Acting Managing Director. The committee will oversee the review and management of Kano Line’s operations over the next six months.

Governor Yusuf urged the appointees to demonstrate innovation, dedication, and accountability in their roles, emphasizing the importance of their contributions to the development of Kano State.
