American rapper Soulja Boy has opened up about the reason behind his performance at Donald Trump’s inauguration ball, and it’s bound to spark some conversation.
The rapper, who shared the stage with Nelly and Snoop Dogg at the controversial event, has faced a wave of backlash from fans who believe he betrayed their trust by agreeing to perform at a Trump-hosted inauguration ball.
In response to the critics, Soulja Boy made a bold statement: he was paid for his performance. He went on to point out that, unlike former President Barack Obama or Vice President Kamala Harris, who never contributed to his finances, it was Trump who enriched him.
During an Instagram Live session, Soulja remarked, “They paid me a bag. Obama ain’t never put no money in my fcking pockets, ngga. Kamala ain’t never put no money in my fcking pockets, ngga. Trump put money in my pockets, n*gga.”
On the other hand, Nelly has since defended his decision, claiming his participation was an act of respect, emphasizing that it wasn’t driven by money.
As for Snoop Dogg, he has yet to address the mounting criticism.
