Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf on Monday swore in seven new commissioners, six permanent secretaries, and 13 special advisers as part of efforts to strengthen governance in the state.
The event, held at the Government House and attended by numerous dignitaries and supporters of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), saw the appointment of key officials in various sectors.
The new commissioners are Ibrahim Wayya (Information), Shehu Wada Sagagi (Investment, Commerce and Industry), Dahiru Muhammad Hashim (Environment), Ismail Aliyu Danmaraya (Finance), Gaddafi Shehu (Power and Sustainable Energy), Abdulkadir Abdulsalam (Rural and Community Development), and Nura Iro Maaji (Public Procurement).
Governor Yusuf emphasised the importance of their roles, saying, “Your appointments were made after careful selection of capable individuals who can contribute to our efforts in achieving good governance in the state.
“Our administration will continue to prioritise infrastructure, education, health, women and youth empowerment, water supply, and enhanced agriculture.”
He also commended the State House of Assembly for its ongoing cooperation in supporting the state’s development.
On behalf of the appointees, Shehu Wada Sagagi, the new Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry, thanked the governor for his trust and assured him of their dedication to delivering on their responsibilities.
