THE Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed the tragic loss of two officers during a gunfight with Lakurawa bandits who attacked Alhaji Lawal Block Farm and nearby Fulani settlements in Natsini village along the Argungu-Kangiwa road.
The incident, detailed in a statement by the Commandโs Public Relations Officer, Nafiu Abubakar, revealed that the bandits rustled an unspecified number of cows during their assault.
Upon receiving a distress call, a Police Safer Highway patrol team responded swiftly, engaging the assailants in a fierce exchange of gunfire.
Although the bandits fled into the forest with gunshot wounds, the police successfully recovered some stolen cattle.
The Commissioner of Police, Kebbi State Command, Bello Sani, condemned the attack and mourned the fallen officers, praying for the repose of their souls.
Following the incident, CP Bello Sani conducted an on-the-spot assessment at the scene and later visited the Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaโila Mera, to offer condolences and discuss ongoing efforts to combat crime in the area.
