The Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Victor Olaiya, has officially decorated 96 senior officers recently promoted within the command.
The ceremony, held on Monday at the Command Headquarters in Ilorin, highlighted the dedication and professionalism of the officers.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ejire-Adeyemi Toun, who noted that the promotions were a testament to the officersโ diligence and commitment.
According to the statement, the elevated ranks come with greater responsibilities, as the officers are now tasked with maintaining heightened public safety and security across the state.
Speaking during the event, CP Olaiya congratulated the newly promoted officers and reminded them of the expectations their new roles bring. โTo whom much is given, much is expected,โ he remarked.
He further encouraged them to prioritize professionalism in their operations, especially in combating crime and fostering better relationships with the community.
The Commissioner also expressed his appreciation to the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, Hashimu Salihu Argungu, for their continuous support of officersโ welfare and career development.
