A Federal High Court in Lagos has granted Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank) permission to recover ₦1.9 billion mistakenly credited to several customer accounts. The error occurred due to a technical glitch between October 28 and 29, 2024.
The court’s order allows GTBank to reclaim the funds and restore its financial records. Some of the funds had been transferred to other banks, but the court’s order has been served on receiving banks, paving the way for the funds’ return.
