A commercial motorcyclist has been shot dead by a suspected passenger along Asa Road in Otukpo, the headquarters of Otukpo Local Government Area in Benue State.
The body of the victim, identified as Daniel, was discovered on Saturday by passersby in Otukpo.
The victim was reportedly conveying a passenger to Asa Junction when he was killed around Eno Gas Station in Asa.
It was gathered that as the passenger was disembarking from the bike, he pulled out a gun and demanded the motorcycle key, which Daniel refused to hand over.
The suspected criminal passenger allegedly shot him at close range and zoomed off with the motorcycle.
The body of the victim has been moved to a morgue in Otukpo town.
When contacted, the spokesperson of the Benue State Police Command, Catherine Anene, said she is yet to receive the report.
