Nigeria’s Super Eagles B Drawn in Group D for CHAN 2025

Nigeria’s Super Eagles B have been drawn into Group D alongside Senegal, Congo Brazzaville, and Sudan for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The tournament, which showcases home-based players, will be co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda in August.

The draw, announced on Wednesday, revealed the groupings for the 19 teams set to compete in the tournament.

Seventeen teams have already secured their spots, while the final two slots will be decided in a qualifying round yet to be scheduled.

The CHAN tournament, which began in 2009, remains a title Nigeria is yet to win.

The Super Eagles B will aim to clinch their first championship, but face stiff competition, particularly from defending champions Senegal, who will be looking to retain their crown.

Full Groupings:
Group A: Kenya, Morocco, Angola, DR Congo, Zambia

Group B: Tanzania, Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic

Group C: Uganda, Niger Republic, Guinea, Wild Card 2, Wild Card 1

Group D: Senegal, Congo Brazzaville, Sudan, Nigeria

Originally slated for February, the tournament was postponed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to allow the host nations more time to prepare necessary facilities.

The specific dates and fixtures for the championship are expected to be announced in the coming months.

The CHAN remains a unique platform for showcasing local talent and promises to deliver thrilling football action across East Africa.
