THE Ondo State Police Command has announced a restriction of movement ahead of the local government elections scheduled for next Saturday.

In a statement issued today by the Command’s Spokesperson, CSP Funmilayo Odunlami, the Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, stated that vehicle and motorcycle movements will be restricted between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on the election day for security purposes.

The statement advised commuters planning to pass through the state to adjust their travel plans in light of the restrictions.

However, the directive exempts security personnel, healthcare workers, firefighters, and other essential service providers, who will be allowed to move freely to perform their duties. Emergencies will also be considered for movement.

The Commissioner urged eligible voters to adhere to electoral guidelines while fulfilling their civic responsibilities.

He assured the public that measures are in place to address any security challenges during the elections and that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth movement of people and election materials.
